Mamata Banerjee, the Chief Minister of West Bengal, launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi during her meeting in Jalpaiguri. She called for the Border Security Force (BSF) to work impartially and accused the CPI(M), Congress, and BJP of collaborating in the state.
Banerjee emphasized the need to defeat them and remove Modi from power in the 2024 elections, asserting that the BJP's time is limited.
Addressing the gathering, Banerjee acknowledged that not all BSF personnel are at fault and urged them to work diligently. She emphasized that while Modi may be in power now, his time will pass. She cited an incident in Cooch Behar where a person was shot near the Bangladesh border and stated that appropriate action was taken.
Furthermore, Banerjee criticized the alliance between CPI(M), Congress, and BJP, vowing to expose their collaboration while working together at the national level. She highlighted the expansion of the Lakshmi Bhandar scheme, providing financial assistance to women in every household, and announced benefits for farmers, including an annual grant and financial support to the families of deceased farmers.
Banerjee expressed confidence in the Trinamool Congress' success in the upcoming Panchayat, Assembly, and Lok Sabha elections, asserting that her party is ahead throughout the state and cannot be defeated. She also addressed the development in Jalpaiguri, mentioning the recognition given to various communities and the progress made in sectors such as healthcare and education.
The Chief Minister concluded by promising to lease tea gardens to laborers, highlighting the government's efforts to open closed tea gardens and emphasizing the initiatives taken for tourism development in Jalpaiguri, including the establishment of medical colleges and colleges.
